Paul Wuensch joined the Wisconsin Army National Guard in 1983, while a Junior at Bangor High School. Following graduation and basic training at Fort Dix, NJ, he attended AIT at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Aberdeen, MD, becoming a service and recovery specialist with the 107th Maintenance Co. in Sparta, WI. He deployed with the 107th to Saudi Arabia in support of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm in 1990. Paul received an honorable discharge in 1993, after serving 10 years with the Wisconsin Army National Guard.
Still serving his community, Paul is Commander of VFW Post 8278 in Bangor, where his late father, George, a WWII Navy Veteran was also a member. In addition, he is a Past President of the Bangor First Responders EMS team; a twenty-year veteran of the Bangor School District Board of Education; and he currently serves on the La Crosse County Board of Supervisors.
Paul works full-time as a Global Key Account Manager in the automotive electronics industry. He and his wife Michelle have two adult daughters, and reside in Rockland, WI
