Ilein was born in New York City, NY, and raised in the borough of Queens. She is a blessed mother of a son named Jonah. He is an apprentice with Hill Electric in Madison, WI.
Ilein is a Retired Master Sergeant/ E8. Served in the United States Marine Corps, from 1992-2013 Active duty. Graduated Boot camp in Parris Island, South Carolina. Her military occupation specialties and duty stations are:
Her Primary occupation was in
Supply Administration. She was a Supply Chief and Logistics/ Operations Chief throughout her
career.
Her first duty station was with 3rd FSSG Okinawa, Japan. She was a Marine Security Guard and she served as one from 1995-1997 in embassies in Cairo, Egypt. Then in Brussels, Belgium, Jordan, and Spain.
She was a Drill Instructor
2000-2003 in Parris Island, SC. That was her first tour as a DI.
She served all of 2006 in Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq as the MAG 16/11 (Marine Air Group) Supply Chief for the ACE (Air Combat Element) based out of Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Miramar, CA in Al Asad, Al Anbar region.
All of the month of
August in 2006 while deployed in Iraq, she was the SNCOIC (Staff
Non-Commissioned Officer In Charge) of the Lioness Program as an E-7, Gunnery
Sergeant, with 6 other all ranks Women Marine team (from Lance Corporal to
Sergeants) we all volunteered to serve with the infantry to work the check
points. Our mission was to search and secure the people border crossing from
Syria and Jordan to Iraq. We were there to help the infantry units, with the
Muslim women that needed to be searched. In Muslim countries only women search
women. She served
in Iraq from Jan 2006 to Jan 2007.
She has also served with 1st LSBN, 1st TSBN in Camp Pendleton, CA. Schools in Twentynine Palms, CA. In Supply leadership positions in the basic School in Quantico, VA, as well as her second Drill Instructor tour in Officer candidate school in Quantico. More School and Training in Camp Johnson/ Camp Lejeune North Carolina.
She retired as the 4th Supply
Bn Operations Chief and Senior Enlisted leader in Medical logistics Company,
out of Newport News, VA.
