Ty Letto hails from Beaver Dam, Wisconsin and is a Gold Legacy Life member of Clarence Keske VFW Post 1163. He is also a member of the Fox Lake American Legion and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.
A member of the VFW since 2005, Ty has served as the VFW Post Commander (7 years), Senior Vice Commander, Adjutant, and Trustee. At the District level, he has held positions as Adjutant, Surgeon, and Community Service Chairman. At the Department level, has served as the State Junior Vice Commander and the State Convention Committee. His VFW achievements include All State & Team Captain 2016 - 2017; All American 2016 -2017; All State & Team Captain 2020 - 2021; All State 2023-2024; All American 2023-2024; All American, including #1 finish in Division 10, 2020-2021; All American 2016-2017; National Aide-De-Camp 2016-2017; and National Aide-De-Camp 2020-2021.
Ty served in the US Army Reserves, Active Army, and the Wisconsin Army National Guard for 21 years and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer Four (CW4), Legal Administrator, Judge Advocate General Corps (JAG). A highlight in his military career was serving as the Legal Administrator for all Detainee Operations in Iraq in 2005. The mission was to set up the Central Criminal Court of Iraq and ensure we were abiding by International Law with the detainees. He is proud to know he had a hand in the legal tool that tried and sentenced Saddam Hussein.
On the civilian side, he is a retired Director of Student Information System Development for the University of Wisconsin System Administration. He served the county, state, and university for over 30 years.
Ty enjoys continuing his servant leadership role at the Department VFW and as a volunteer for several organizations in his community.
