Scott Colburn
District 7 Commander - Marines

Scott is a member of Adams-Friendship VFW Post 6279. He has held a number of offices there including Trustee, House Committee Chairman (5 years), Sr. Vice Commander (3 years) and Post Commander (2 years). He has also served as Patriot’s Pen and Voice of Democracy Chairman at both the Post and District levels for six and five years respectively.
A US Marine, Scott served from June 1969 – April 2011, with duty in Vietnam, SWA, and Iraq (4 tours).
He is the Chairman (6 years) and a member of the Adams County Service Commission for the last 6 years. Also the Treasurer and founding member of the "A Tribute to Veterans of Adams County Inc.”, an organization building a memorial to all Adams County Veterans.
His special interests include "seeing older, indigent Veterans receive adequate help to improve their lives through better service from the VA and other private and governmental institutions.” He also encourages "that the VFW participates in every school to improve the history and knowledge of our unique form of government and the historical sacrifice of its Veterans.”
Further, "I strongly believe in our constitutional form of government. I believe that the VFW has an obligation and mandate to improve the knowledge, history and value of our way of governing to the up coming generations in order to preserve what we have all made sacrifices for.”
