Kerry McAllen is a Gold Legacy Life Member and earned her eligibility for VFW membership in 2004 during her first deployment to Kuwait as a mechanic, then to Balad, Iraq in 2009 as a brigade logistics liaison. Kerry joined The Day Post No. 7591 of the VFW in Madison, Wis. in 2005.  She has since held several positions with in the Veterans of Foreign Wars:  Nation By-Laws Committee member 2020-2023, selected for the 2020 VFW National Security & Foreign Affairs Committee (it did not meet due to the COVID-19 pandemic), Honorary National Chief of Staff 2019-2021, State of Wis. Chief of Staff 2020-2021, State of Wis. Deputy Chief of Staff 2019-2020, State of Wis. Recorder 2017-2019, Centennial Celebration Chairman 2019-2022, State Building Committee 2020-2022; Wis. District 2 Commander 2021-2022 Wis. District 2 Sr. Vice Commander 2020-2021, and Wis. District 2 Adjutant 2017-2019. Kerry has accepted several post level appointments and nominations to include, Post Commander 2019-2021 (All-State 2019-2021 & All-American 2019-2020), Sr Vice Commander 2017-2019, Jr Vice Commander 2015-2017, 3-year Trustee 2021-2022, Education Chair, Legislative Chair, and House Committee member 2019-2021.  

Kerry has marched with the award-winning Black Knights Color Guard since 2011 and has volunteered for numerous fund-raising activities to include drive-thru brat fries & Buddy Poppy drives during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, as well as calendar raffles, bingo, and State calendar and cash raffles. Kerry is president of Operation Ruck 22 of Wisconsin, a not-for-profit organization that focuses on raising awareness and funds to donate to local organizations that combat the 22 Veteran suicides that occur each day. She also serves as the president of her neighborhood association.

Kerry is a 31-year veteran of the United States Army and a retired Command Sergeant Major of the United States Army. She lives and works in Madison, Wis. and is president of her family‚Äôs commercial real estate business.
