George Stoeber, Judge Advocate – US Navy

Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, George Stoeber enlisted into the United States Navy in 1983 and retired after serving over 24 years on active duty.  During his career in the Navy, he served as a Hospital Corpsman and earned a commission in the Medical Service Corps.  His many assignments took him and his family throughout the United States, to include multiple tours of duty with the United States Marine Corps, where he earned his eligibility for the VFW in the Persian Gulf.

George joined the VFW in 2012 as a Life Member of Pleasant Prairie Memorial Post #7308. He has served in a variety of positions within the VFW, the Post, District, and Department Level.  He is an All-State Post Commander for VFW Post #7308 and achieved All-American Post Commander during the 2015 – 2016 command year.  He has also achieved All-State District Commander for District 1 during the 2018 – 2019 commander year.  He has served as State Chief of Staff during PSC Geisler’s command, and as the Chairman of the 2016 WI Loyalty Day Committee.  He is currently the Chairman of the Department Awards Committee and has appointments on the Department Finance Committee and Wisconsin VFW Foundation Committee.

George currently lives in Pleasant Prairie, WI with his wife of 38 years, Debbie Stoeber, who is also a U.S. Navy Veteran.  George works as a Human Resources Specialist, Labor and Employee Relations, for the Department of the Navy in Great Lakes, IL.
